To expose data from existing equipment to the OPC server, the following steps need to be completed:

  1. Install connectors for the equipment and the OPC server.
  2. Configure data items for the equipment.
  3. Set up the OPC server with authentication and security parameters.
  4. Map the equipment data items to the OPC UA server to automatically generate nodes.

The time required to configure the OPC Server and expose data from equipment depends on the complexity and the number of data points to be configured.

Setting up the OPC server and exposing pre-configured data items from the equipment typically takes only a few minutes.
